Heidelberg Haus is a German bakery that has been featured several times on the Food Finds television program on the Food Network. For nearly 40 years, Heidelberg Haus has been surprising Indianapolis customers with its Old Country charms, thanks to Gabi and Juergen Jungbauer. Juergen, originally from Germany, opened a small cafe and pastry shop in 1968, then expanded several times to add imported gifts and European gourmet foods. He creates such confections as layered tortes and Black Forest cake with personalized touches for weddings or birthdays.
